FEATURED ARTIST - Gypsy Ladybug (The Spiderwick Chronicles) Part 1

Gypsy Ladybug has done an amazing set of stamps with some of the existing artwork for the Spiderwick Chronicles. She sent me the cards in a wonderful card of the Spiderwick Home:






The cards themselves are of artwork that is from the books but she has done a great job making this wonderful set of cards from the pictures.

To start with we have Arthur Spiderwick who wrote the the Field Guide to Faeries, although he warned others not to read it.

He was the children's great uncle who disappeared after trying to fool the elves.

Jared Grace is the the main character of the books and from whose point of view that the are written. Jared and Simon are identical twins. He is generally a good boy with leadership qualities but he does have some anger management issues.

He has a talent for creating plans at the most important times.

He didn't want to move to the Spiderwick house and was upset about his father leaving.

Simon is Jared's identical twin. He is a calm, caring pacifist. He adores animals and has many pets, more than his family would like.

His brother Jared thinks that Simon will be either a veterinarian or a lion tamer.

Mallory is Jared and Simon's older sister. She is an avid fencer and Jared thinks she will either grow up to be an Olympic Fencer or be in jail for stabbing someone.

She can be grumpy, but she is a big help with the boy's adventures as her fencing skills are a huge help in defending themselves from the faeries.

Coming in part 2 are some of the creatures from the Spiderwick Chronicles. In

Featured Artist - CW Sunseeker

The first card I am showing you today by the wonderful CW Sunseeker is called "Jasmine" and her card was created for the "Barks, Meows, and Chirps! - oh my!" Ring. She is an Cocker Spaniel and Mini Schnauzer mix who loves her treats. Jas also likes to letterbox, chase squirrels and rabbits as well. It looks like Jasmine comes from a great home and is well loved.

This card called "Dance Marathon" and is part of of a set of 2 that was created for a ring called "The Roaring 20's".




















Thes second card for this Roaring 20's ring is called "All Dolled Up". The two cards complement each other very well. The colours and embellishments used are done perfectly and you end up with a lovely little mini set of cards.

This last card is called "Year of the Rat" for Chinese New Year 2008. According to some of the highlights on the back of the card:

It is the first sign of the Chinese Zodiac.

Rats are leaders, pioneers and conquerors.

They are highly ambitious and strong-willed.

Rat's nature make them an appealing friend for just about everyone but they are often very exclusive and selective when making friends so they may not have that many friends.



This card is beautifully made with great attention to the the little details
that make it a very special card to have.

FEATURED ARTIST- BNLBalGrl

THE TRANSFORMER!

BNLBalGrl create one of the coolest cards I have ever seen (I keep it pinned to the bulletin board over my desk) for the for the Batteries Not Included Swap hosted by Sweet and Sour. The card arrived like this:

Now at first glance when you pick it up you think "interesting, but what is it?" Then you flip it over and realize there are some pieces attached to the back. So you say, "Cool! Let's play with them and see what happens." Well after a minute or so of playing your little LTC has become this:

You have just created the "But Mom!" card by BNLBalGrl! How she ever came up with such a clever idea is beyond me! Well done!

FEATURED ARTIST - Alamocito

Alomacito makes the most wonderfully colourful cards and I have had a terrible time trying to narrow it down to these first 6 cards that I am going to feature.

This first cad is called"Thoroughly MOD-ern Fairy "and it was created for the Fairies LTC Ring that was run by Sweet N Sour. I just adore the feathers that she has used for wings, they really make the card extra special.

The next card in our showcase is called "Pumpkin. It is not only a fantastic piece of art work by its self, her use of buttons for embellishments is a really cool touch. According to the back of the card "This is a recycled LTC stamp from my Old Faces LTC but done differently. Each new Pumpkin LTC is different from the other". This is an awesome card.

The third card we get to enjoy is called "BOO Bug". It was created originally for the Ghosts & Goblins, Hauntings & Haunts LTC Ring which was a ring run by Alamocito. I think this card is so original and wonderfully executed.

Our or fourth card is called "Peek-a-boo Kitten"Created for the Meow VS Woof LTC ring. The colour is amazing and the design is so neat!

The fifth card in this set is called "Emu-Wren" and was created for the Going Down Under Ring. Alamaocito says"The emu-Wren is a bird found in certain parts of southern Australia. I couldn't resist doing this card because it has my name in it. :o)"

Our final card is called "Every Park Needs a Ranger", it was a bonus card for the National Parks LTC Ring hosted by Alamocito herself. Let's face it if a park needs a Ranger this is the guy you want! Colour is excellent on this card! For those of you who love Virtuals, Alamocito has quite a few of them with similar types of art work. You should check them out if your interested.

FEATURED ARTIST - Sahalie

Another incredible work of art from my Beads, Beads, Beads, Ring was this card called "Fruit of the Vine" by Sahalie. I can't imagine they amount of work she must have put in to making all of these cards but the end result was truly amazing! All the individual beads attached to an already outstanding stamp make for a fabulous work of art.

FEATURED ARTIST- Milagro

Milagro created the coolest card called "Whatever" for my Beads, Beads, Beads, ring. There are so many wonderful things going on in this card including beads of course, embossing and a ton of other stuff that I am just going to let the card speak for itself.

SPECIAL FEATURED ARTIST - Buggaboo

We have a really special featured artist today named Buggaboo who is 5 years old. She is a member of the boxing family called PB&J. Recently she was a part of my Ladybug Madness LTC ring and this is her card.

Can you believe this awesome card was created by a 5 year old. While she did have some help on the stamp from Mom, I think this girl is definitely worth keeping an eye on, by the time she is 10 she will be creating LTC's we will all be jealous of!

Buggaboo says her favorite part of letterboxing is "getting all the stamps and seeing all the pretty things". She just loves trading for new LTC's.

FEATURED ARTIST-Esmerelda

The Pirate's Table of Periodic Elements




Radioactive, Astatine is the rarest naturally occurring element and the heaviest member of the Halogen family. So deadly, you only have to think about it to get a rash. A pretty bad one because of this highly toxic nature and the tendency to vanish with no trace. It is greatly prized by Pirates.





Thulium is the least abundant of the rare earths. It is a workable metal and can be cut by a cutlass. But Pirates prize it most after in has been bombarded in a nuclear reactor. Then it can be used in portable X-Ray machines. These machines are invaluable for seeing treasure inside chests. And for wacky crew hijinks!
