I Am Still Alive!

I have been in an extended care hospital for the past 5 months trying to get my health to the point were I am not basically bedridden 90 percent of the time. While I still have a way to go (after all, health care is a life long project) I am much better than I was and can not even begin t tell you how happy I am to be home with my family again.

For those of you that I trade with on swapbot I had to leave several trades unfinished as I had to take the bed that they had available for me on very short notice. I did leave a quick message saying that all the unfinished trades and what not that I had to leave I would finish up when I returned. While I have left a message on Swapbot and here I also plan to go through all of the unanswered messages I have and talk to people directly. If I owe you something and you want to remind me about it please feel free to go ahead as I would hate to miss anyone.

ATC's from older book marks

Rather than throwing them out or losing them in a drawer and forgotten about. By doing this you can see them pretty again!

Twilight Set and all the Rest of Life

It may stun a few of you rigid but the Twilight Ring is more or less ready to be mailed as soon as my husband gets paid on the 15th. I had the money set aside in what we call my swapping account and normally my husband never touches it though it is technically joint. He was in dire need of some tool he broke at work (mechanics have to provide their own their own tools that they bring along with them to any new job) anyway it was something important that he needs all the time (he told me what it was but with tools it's in one ear and out the other,lol) we are really broke at the moment as I need expensive dental work that requires a number of stages and has to be done in a different city, so all our cash has been going to that) So he in his wisdom borrowed my trading money not realizing that the cash in the account was almost entirely the money sent to me from others for their trades. He had planned to replace it on his 15th of the month cheque anyway, but when he told me what he had done I freaked out at him and explained how and why that money didn't actually belong to me, he wants me to apologize to all of you, he is horrified as he would never spend money that wasn't ours under any circumstances, and has already given me a post dated cheque for the 16th so that we can be certain his pay has gone in. For some reason the Direct Deposit sometimes (most) puts it in at midnight of the 14th but every so often he doesn't get it until midnight on the 15th so the cheque is written for the 16th, then we are safe.We have also made a new family rule that nothing comes out of that account without checking with me first. Hope to get a couple of the smaller ones out as well until I get my tiny disability pension on the 25th. I want to continue to keep sending them. This will feel like I have a huge weight off of me if I could get all of them as well as the prizes from the contest (the grand prize has been attached to my bulletin board since before the contest was even over).
I have additional good news, my doctor is going to let me start slowly carving again as of Sept! He wanted to see if it was contributing to my chronic pain as it is the left side I have my pain on and I am left handed so he wanted me to take a YEAR off to see if it changed anything.It drove me to making ATC'S as I was addicted to making cards by that point, LOL! I will probably have to send ATC'S, many which I have already have made. I may be able to incorporate some of my old stamps in new ways too.
I am looking forward to filling the black hole and I haven't forgotten any singles here too. I am looking forward to the 16th so we can get this party started! I will never forget anyone's trade (though any individual trades may require a reminder) I maybe slow but I will never flake out on someone on purpose!
Any one who thinks I may have the wrong address because they have moved in the past year and a half should send their address to jenwin not AQ mail as my AQ mail account needs a total overhaul but I should get your info no problem at that email address. It might not hurt to send i just because and don't forget to include your trail name so I know who's info I am looking at. I may try to send multiples if you are in more than one ring to speed up arrivals home. @shaw.ca

You know how desperately unhappy you are when you wish you're a suicidal person so you could take the pain away but you know how much pain it would cause everyone you love and left behind and you just can't hurt them like that, or miss seeing the little ones grow. But I really, really wish I was. But I'm not so I must endure. I promise you have nothing to worry about, but I don't want to talk about it.

Last night we went to the Festival of Trees Gala Dinner and Auction to help support the arts in the community. It included a silent and a live auction (I donated a very small basket of my handmade ornaments to the silent auction and they winning bid was $60, I was blown away as I was hoping that they would at least get $20 for them. It was so cool to see bidding on something I made!

I ended up winning 4 items in the silent auction and this wreath that is so beautiful in the live auction. In the live one I thought some one had out bid me and I had reached the end of my budget so I resigned myself to not getting it and then all of a sudden the auctioneer called sold on my number and I was astounded! I have taken a picture to show you but the picture doesn't do it justice, It is unbelievably beautiful in real life.

The 4 things I also won were 2 identical little mug/hot choc, and goodies baskets, they were very inexpensive and 2 medium size gift baskets that were about half their retail price. I now have most of my Christmas shopping done as I opened the baskets and there are things I can use for all sorts of family members. I figure combining this stuff with the $150 worth of merchandise that have on my Shoppers Drug mart Optimum points card, I should have 95% of my Christmas shopping done.

There was this coolest purse made from recycled wrappers (misprints and overstock that would have been thrown out otherwise and it is so beautiful with all its bright colours, I have a picture of that of it too.

It was such a fun evening,in fact, I had forgotten it was possible to have that much fun! Of course afterward we went outside afterward and it was snowing like crazy to reality came crashing back!LOL!

Hey every one,

I know I have let a lot of people I consider really good friends down this summer/fall and I am literally ill about it.

I want to explain about what I have been going through health wise and what my plans for all the rings and singles I have.

You have all known I have a bad hip and leg that causes me with great pain sometimes and that I am on constant heavy painkillers to keep that under control. Now if that was my only issue during this past period of time there would have been no problems as I have traded easily and on time with that issue frequently. However, at the beginning of the summer/ perhaps late spring I ended up in the hospital as I spiraled out of control to the extreme and I had a bunch of other symptoms that landed me in ICU for a chunk of my stay due mainly to breathing/aspiration issues. (the good news is I hardly remember any of that part). While I was in the hospital they asked me to speak to the one and only psychiatrist during this time as I have always had panic and anxiety issues but they got much worse after the ICU stay.

She diagnosed me with extreme anxiety disorder. This consists of panic attacks and some days the inability to deal with ANYTHING. I become literally frozen, unable to do or decide what to do , so I end up doing nothing as that is all I am capable. A lot of times this summer I was so frozen I couldn't leave my bedroom and was unable to talk to anyone in person or on the net. This disorder is slowly getting better with an anti-depressant that is also designed to help with aniity. We have been increasing mu dosage slowly each month and by Jan. I should be at the maximum dosage that we have been aiming for. We will then start decreasing very slowly as I currently take 30 mg of Valium 5 times a day (anyone who knows about this drug probably has their eyes popping out their heads right now as that is an Extremely high dose and most people would be dead if they took that dose while I don't even fall asleep {I have been on it for a year at this dose.}

I have been unable to respond to people who have attempted to get ahold of me due to being paralyzed by the whole situation. Like I mentioned I an starting to improve on this drug which is why I able to write this letter now.

I know that there will be some people who have never experienced the mental issues I have been happening and won't be able to understand why I just didn't get my s&%T together and just send the stuff out. An anxiety disorder, esp. an extreme one like I have just can't be explained. Usually it is something you understand as either you or a loved one who has suffered from it. I wish there was a better way to help you understand how debilitating this disorder into words but I don't want to do it. I have managed to get a very small pension to from the Canada Pension Plan for being disabled but it is well under $1000 a month so it helps with our finances.

It is very embarrassing and frankly humiliating to have to tell people about my mental illness on top of my physical one but it is very important you understand why I have been gone. It's mot that I don't care, in fact I think of those packages every day.

Obviously they need to be sent out and I an going to chip away at them over the next couple weeks (we are moving Jan. 1 and it is my goal not to take any of them with me as they have all been sent). They won't be in the order that the swaps were set up in, I am going to choose a bag after each mailing, one that doesn't make me feel over whelmed and I think I should be able to get them all out this month.

I just have 2 more important things to day which is why they are in all capitals:

1) WHILE I DO HAVE SOME OF THE CARDS MADE A FEW OTHERS i WILL HAVE TO WHIP UP.THEE PROBLEM IS THE DOCTOR DOESN'T WANT ME CARVING FOR WHAT 'COULD' BE ANOTHER 6 MONTHS(MY HIP AND LEG PROBLEM ARE ON THE LEFT AND SO IS MY CARVING HAND AND HE WANTS ME TO REST THAT WHOLE SIZE) SO FOR THOSE i WILL HAVE TO MAKE ATC'S AND NOT LTC'S FOR. I WILL TRY TO USE SOME OF MY OLDER STAMPS BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THERE WON'T BE MUCH IN THE WAY OF STAMPS ON THE CARDS OTHER THAN MY SIG. STAMP. I DO HAVE LOTS OF COOL PAPER AND ACCESSORIES SO THEY SHOULD BE NICE CARD.

20 THE OTHER THING, AND POSSIBLY MORE IMPORTANT IS THAT i DELETED ALL NEW MAIL IN MY ACCOUNT AS THERE WERE 17 PAGES OF UNREAD LETTER. IF YOU HAVE CONTACTED ME AND YOU DIDN'T GET A RESPONSE FROM ME AND THE MESSAGE IS STILL RELEVANT THEN PLEASE MESSAGE ME AGAIN AND i WILL BE ABLE TO GET BACK TO YOU RATHER THAN ME BE IN THE MIDDLE OF 17 PAGES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH OF ANY MESSAGES AREN'T SO OLD THEY DON'T MATTER ANY MORE.

It is very important to me to get these sent out and show that I will never ever become a real black hole and will always send things out, just in this case not when I wanted to.

Thank you all my AtlasQuest Friends and once this is all squared away I will still be welcomed into swaps, although I plan not to make very many commitments at the same time to keep from something like this to occur again. I would also like to than Sue (you know who you are) for trying to help me as much as she could although I was really wasn't in a position mentally to really get back to here much.

I am also going to post this on my blog so those of you who may not catch it in this forum posting and feel free to share the info with others.

New ATC's New Health Info and New Group Info!

Nope I haven't died although the past 2 months have included 11 days in the hospital, several days in ICU (thankfully I don't remember much), an MRI in another province cuz we can't afford one here, still waiting to have another CT scan (there is a 9 week waiting list which is beyond unacceptable). Recovering from a lumbar puncher (spinal tap), being exposed to one of those super bugs while I was in hospital. I am sure there is more I just can't think of.

I do have some good news though, I finally have word from Canada Pension and they have accepted my claim for disability benefits. It won't be much but if it is enough to by the groceries each month that will make a huge help. They tell you it takes 3 to 4 months to process your claim, it has been over a year since I was last able to work. Thank god they back pay you all but the first four months after you stopped working and I should get that check this week and will be able to get all the outstanding groups ready to go and be able to afford to take a cab to the post office and get all the packages I can sent out. No more black hole from JennieGee. You should be hearing from me through each group's email with more specific info. This stuff is going to be great guys!

I have mostly been making ATC's rather than LTC's as my arm and neck have made it difficult to carve so here are a few quick ATC's interspersed that I have whipped up when I am in too much pain to sleep.

It really gives an ego boost to the people who are allowing me to put their cards up here. Autumn Beauties LTC Ring

Here are some of the cards from our Autumn Leaves Ring. There are some really great cards here.

The first card up is by Larva Lady and is called "Sweet Gum Ball Tree".

It is too bad that the vibrancy of the colours don't come through as well as the could being scanned.

The second card I want to show you is from Alamocito and it is called Autumn Tag Sale.

Alamocito's work is as amazing as ever!

Next we have a card by Falling Leaves called" White Ash"

The colour and vibrancy of this card is outstanding!

The card that I submited for this ring is called "Leafy Trio"

Giving you a taste of a variety of wonderful leaves that we see in the Autumn.

Despite the fact that the paper didn't scan in the bright orange it was made with, the embossed leaves are still awesome looking.

A Bunch of LTC/ATC's too cool to miss

Here are some ATC/LTC's from different groups or singles that are just too cool not to show the world.

Let's start with a cool drink from Marmalade Called " South Seas Adventures, Please may I have another"

Delicious isn't it? We can sit back and sip it as be we look over the other cards."

Well if we are going to have a nice refreshing drink we might as well have a snack too while we peruse the cards.

Here is a yummy Jello snack from Mah Jongg Queen that she created for my Abstract Ring.

So now that we have treats, let's look at some of the cards that are too cool to miss.

This card was carved by Esmerelda and it is called "Woodston Fishing Station, St, Cyrus, Scotland.

Esmerelda writes:

High on the cliffs overlooking the North Sea in Scotland, this Bed and Breakfast was a magical step back in time for me. Peaceful beyond words it was as though I had finally found the place I had been long been searching for.

Some Day I will return

This next ATC I made out of scraps from other LTC/ATC's. I call it Firefly.

She consists of a little bit of this and that but it still turn out a very pretty card.

I created this LTC for the 2009 Christmas ormament exchange. You will find here a picture of the card I made as well as the ornament that I made that the card based based on.

This is the ornament I made for the 2009 swap.

For part of the Egyptian ring NSFBeads created this masterpiece of Canonic Jars.These jars were used by the Ancient Egyptians to store the internal organs removed during the mummification .

This card is called "Scottish Thistle" and was created by by Capt.Raehawk. Sometimes it is the simplicity of a card that is what makes it so beautiful.

Our final card tonight is another masterpiece from mrstrwndl. He calls it " I go to sleep to dream."

New ATC - Butterflies and Bird

What I really like about ATC's is that when I have the urge to be creative RIGHT NOW I don't have to figure out a stamp to carve and then carve it, I can just play with the paper and embellishments and quickly come up with something pretty. I will always be an LTC'er at heart, there is something about carving that brings great peace, it just takes me a while. This little number I made when I got home from the craft store.

Well I think we all know where first prize is going to and that is Milagro. I know some of you had trouble voting and I am sorry about that, the only real way around that is to create an account so that you don't have to deal with the anon. pain in the rear. Just remember you don't have to create any blogs to join Blogger.

We also had a bit of trouble with with Woodwhittler thinking it was recording his name each vote after the first one and it was not. This is quite obvious as you can see the daily vote after the first one.
One of the reasons I wanted a name each day was so that I would not be spammed by anon. votes. I have to say that in my opinion the votes that did come up as as anon were mainly accidental. You were all very well behaved!

For this reason I have decided to award second place to both Shorty and Woodwhittler (who would have won if he knew how Blogger worked.)They were fairly close in votes any way and I feel good about doing it this way.

For all the other participants I am a little sad that you didn't get in there and vote for yourself each day as well as get your friends and family to help out as our top 3 participants did but I really appreciate you playing my game and maybe next time we will have even more of a race.

Now,

1. All our participants will get a special participation LTC.
2. Our first place winner will get an LTC for that plus a small gift.

Back from the Dead, Almost!

Well I was finally released from the hospital yesterday, which makes 13 days in the hospital, 2 of those days in ICU with aspiration pneumonia and a severe lung infection. I went in for chronic pain! The medications made me sicker than when I started! I hope to have all the contest results up by the weekend as I am still pretty weak and have to keep resting.

JennieGee has been in hospital since Wednesday and is still there. She was even lucky enough to spend a night in ICU. My husband and I are stealing a wireless internet connection in order to let you know this so that you know that I haven't dropped off the face of the planet right after the contest ended. As soon as I am back home again I will announce all of the winners and what they have won. I just wanted to let you know how bad things are so that you didn't think I had disappeared. I will get everything sorted as soon as I get home. Please pass this message along to anyone who asks about me. I am very, very sick. Sicker than I have ever been before so it might be awhile before I am home. My love to you all.

I have noticed that I woodwhittlers posts in particular that there are a bunch of anon votes with no name, this leaves me in a real quandary as it is down in the rules that you must leave a name. they way the vote is worded each time I have a feeling it is coming from one person if you are that person contact me and I will consider what can if anything be done.

My Birthday Present!

I am absolutely flabbergasted! My husband and 2 daughters went in together to buy me a Cricut Expressions machine for my birthday (today)! I have wanted one for a long time but they are so expensive and we have so many bills I would never dream of buying myself one. Can you believe they did something so sweet? I truly have a wonderful family who knows how to rock a birthday!

Winter Snowflake Ring Highlights

I currently was part of a LTC Ring called Winter Snowflakes. It was a large ring and I wanted to share some of the highlights with you. This ring was held by dolphinwander and we must thank her for the hard work she did collecting and sending out all these fabulous cards.

The first card I want to show you is called "How Flaky" and it was submitted to the swap by Toby. It is a beautiful card and it is unfortunate Blogger can't show you how wonderfully shiny it is.
The next card is called "Snowflake Ornament" and it was created by the very talented Alamocito. The techniques she uses always make for the most wonderfully colourful cards.

This next card is simple in its design but so elegant in its presentation. It is called "Snowflake" and it was submitted to the ring by Whatever. I love it!

We continue on with a more elaborate card by Allemeyn entitled "Winter Wonderland." This card makes excellent use of a number of techniques but the brads really make it pop. Again, Blogger doesn't let you see how shiny this card really is.

The entry from Larva Lady entitled "Almost Celtic Snowflake" is another simple but elegantly beautiful card.
The card sent in by The Frasier 4 is a lovely layered card called "Blue Ice." It is a very pretty card again using multiple techniques. Neknitter has sent in a lovely card entitled "One in a zillion." All I can say is that the one in a zillion that she chose to show us is just beautiful! The texture on this card is really cool.Our next entry is a shiny multi-layered card that is very pretty. The card was submitted by the Shoafsters and is called "Winter Beauty." A beauty it is!
The card I have to show you next is wonderfully colourful and has the fantastic quote on the back, 'A snowflake is winter's butterfly' what a great quote. This card was created by skier4444 and is called "Let it snow!" Amazing colours!
There were so many fabulous cards submitted for this ring that I can't show them all to you but I want to finish up the Winter Snowflakes showcase with one last card. This card is a 3-d look with embossed snowflakes. A very cool card by the ever lovable Happy Gemini who's card is called "Snowflakes."

Well the results from the first poll were overwhelmingly in favor of traditional letterboxes. Seems you all prefer the get outside, real deal. I envy those of you who live in places where those boxes exist. I have no idea where the nearest traditional box is around here but it is definitely hundreds and hundreds of miles away. Thank goodness for LTC's!

Traditional boxes received 29 votes making it a winner at 74 %

LTC's received 4 votes for 10%

Postals, Virtuals, and Hitchhikers all received 2 votes each for 5%

FEATURED ARTIST - Gypsy Ladybug (The Spiderwick Chronicles) Part 1

Gypsy Ladybug has done an amazing set of stamps with some of the existing artwork for the Spiderwick Chronicles. She sent me the cards in a wonderful card of the Spiderwick Home:

The cards themselves are of artwork that is from the books but she has done a great job making this wonderful set of cards from the pictures.

To start with we have Arthur Spiderwick who wrote the the Field Guide to Faeries, although he warned others not to read it.

He was the children's great uncle who disappeared after trying to fool the elves.

Jared Grace is the the main character of the books and from whose point of view that the are written. Jared and Simon are identical twins. He is generally a good boy with leadership qualities but he does have some anger management issues.

He has a talent for creating plans at the most important times.

He didn't want to move to the Spiderwick house and was upset about his father leaving.

Simon is Jared's identical twin. He is a calm, caring pacifist. He adores animals and has many pets, more than his family would like.

His brother Jared thinks that Simon will be either a veterinarian or a lion tamer.

Mallory is Jared and Simon's older sister. She is an avid fencer and Jared thinks she will either grow up to be an Olympic Fencer or be in jail for stabbing someone.

She can be grumpy, but she is a big help with the boy's adventures as her fencing skills are a huge help in defending themselves from the faeries.

Coming in part 2 are some of the creatures from the Spiderwick Chronicles. In
the meantime, you can let Gypsy Ladybug what a great job she has done so far by
letting her know in the comment section.

A few of my cards

This card was called "Crusader's Shield" and was created for the Medieval Ring. It is hard to see in the picture but the red shield is made from a really neat textured paper that gave it a bit of a that hand-crafted metal look.

This card is called "Splatter Garden" and was created for the "Unconventional Wrapping Paper" Ring, The goal was to create a mini piece of unusual wrapping paper. I called mine Splatter Garden because rather that use a conventional stamp to apply apply the int I used a toothbrush well rubbed on to the stamp pads and then "flicked" onto the paper. After adding several colours, I added some flower embellishments and yellow brad and there you have some mini wrapping paper!

The final card I am going to show you right now is my "Seahorse" card. This stamp was originally created for the "Tropical Fish Postal Ring" but when the ring was finished I decided to turn the stamp into an LTC. It has been a very popular choice. I like it because it is simple yet elegant in its look.

Messing around with alcohol inks again!

I just can't leave them alone they are so fun. I tried a couple of things on coloured vellum as well as a thin frosted glass square. The glass came out like this:
The background of the glass is coloured using the alcohol inks and then the flower is drawn on with Marvy Markers . I expect a stamp would great a similar effect. Overall I was quite happy with it.

The vellum crinkles am bit when you add the inks which makes for a fun texture if you want to leave it that way or you could iron them on low to see if it makes a difference. I am going to post then first crinkled to see what you all think and them I will iron them and see the difference, You can tell me in the comments what you think of the difference.

Crinkly:

This frog was created by using alcohol inks for the background, a carved stamp for the frog, and water colour pens to give the frog some colour.

The love look was created by using alcohol inks as the background, a heart carved stamp, commercial lettering stamps and a glaze pen for the yellow dots

Ironed for the flat look:

I think I like them both ways, it just depends on what kind of look you are trying to achieve. If you want a more aged look then leave the paper with the crinkles in it but if you want a more modern feel then ironing then paper flat will give you that.

Featured Artist - CW Sunseeker

The first card I am showing you today by the wonderful CW Sunseeker is called "Jasmine" and her card was created for the "Barks, Meows, and Chirps! - oh my!" Ring. She is an Cocker Spaniel and Mini Schnauzer mix who loves her treats. Jas also likes to letterbox, chase squirrels and rabbits as well. It looks like Jasmine comes from a great home and is well loved.

Here are some more wonderful cards from CW Sunseeker that I want to show you:

This card called "Dance Marathon" and is part of of a set of 2 that was created for a ring called "The Roaring 20's".

Thes second card for this Roaring 20's ring is called "All Dolled Up". The two cards complement each other very well. The colours and embellishments used are done perfectly and you end up with a lovely little mini set of cards.

This last card is called "Year of the Rat" for Chinese New Year 2008. According to some of the highlights on the back of the card:

It is the first sign of the Chinese Zodiac.

Rats are leaders, pioneers and conquerors.

They are highly ambitious and strong-willed.

Rat's nature make them an appealing friend for just about everyone but they are often very exclusive and selective when making friends so they may not have that many friends.

This card is beautifully made with great attention to the the little details
that make it a very special card to have.

FEATURED ARTIST - 7 trailwanders

For those of you still checking for new updates while I was ill I figured I should reward you with something new to look at!

7 trailwanders has done 2 Narnia cards the lampost:

A very beautiful job, and although it is a little difficult to see on this scan, the card is 3-D with the lampost popping out from the picture.

The second Narnia card that 7trailwanders has done is this beautiful card of Jadis the White Witch

The scan doesn't do the justice deserved for this lovely shiny card.

JennieGee back from the dead....almost

For those of you who know me quite well from Atlas Quest you are probably aware that I have serious health issues that can sometimes take me out of the game for up to several weeks at a time. They usually include the always fun hospital visit, as they did this time, and I just got home from the hospital last night.

Never fear, not matter what ails me I always return, letter boxing and my LB online family are one on the therapies that keep me from going crazy when being sick gets depressing (which is much too often) you special folks can always put a smile on my face.

This chronic illness is one of the reasons I never started a blog sooner, I figured as soon as I committed to something that needed constant attention I would have some kind of severe attack. Of course that is exactly what happened. So let's hope that it is done with now and we can proceed from here.

I have many packages and AQ mails to go through and I am still pretty weak even if I'm I thousand times better than last week so give me a couple days to get back to you if you have been trying to get a hold of me. I will work away at everything while having little rests in between. I really appreciate your patience and understand. We be back in business in no time!

FEATURED ARTIST- BNLBalGrl

THE TRANSFORMER!

BNLBalGrl create one of the coolest cards I have ever seen (I keep it pinned to the bulletin board over my desk) for the for the Batteries Not Included Swap hosted by Sweet and Sour. The card arrived like this:

Now at first glance when you pick it up you think "interesting, but what is it?" Then you flip it over and realize there are some pieces attached to the back. So you say, "Cool! Let's play with them and see what happens." Well after a minute or so of playing your little LTC has become this:

You have just created the "But Mom!" card by BNLBalGrl! How she ever came up with such a clever idea is beyond me! Well done!

A Special Kind of Poll (with gifts*)

When I was first approached about adding a poll so that people could judge the featured artists and vote in a poll about which they liked better I decided I didn't like this idea. The main reason for this was because the featured artists didn't have any control over which cards I put up nor were they being asked if they wanted to be judged. So I decided to have noncompetitive polls on letter boxing subjects.

However, I have decided that I am OK with a more "contest" like poll/vote or whatever you want to call it. Depending on how popular this feature becomes I may hold it once a month or less often if people aren't that into it.

I know there is a lot here to read, but you need to read these rules carefully:

The first attempt of this"poll" will begin Feb 10th and run for 2 weeks. (voting ends at midnight pacific time Feb 24Th).
I will accept the first 12 entries on the first come, first served basis.
You may ask me to use a card of yours I already have. (including ones I have already showcased.)
Otherwise you should mail me a card with a note in the envelope that the card is for the poll.( if you don't have my address AQ or email me and I'll send it to you ASAP.
Any cards that arrive past the limit of 12 for that month's poll or the poll start date will be saved for the following month's poll (so if your card is the 17th one submitted for Feb. or arrives on Feb.11 it will counted as card #1 for the next month's poll, and so on. If you decide you don't want to be placed on the waiting list for the next poll start date, then the next card on the waiting list will added. All you have to do is ask for your card to be withdrawn.
If you withdraw your card from the poll during the 2 week voting period no additional cards will be added.
You vote in the comment section of the card that you like the best. If you are voting as an anonymous user you must write your trail name in the post box along with your vote, for example: (I am voting for this card - Jane letterboxer.) If you do not leave your trail name with your vote, that vote will not count.
Votes will be physically read and counted as there may be comments on a posting page that have nothing to do with the front page totals.
You may only vote once per day. If you vote for a card more often than once a day (the comments section has a date stamp) then none of your votes will count. However if you make a mistake and accidentally vote for the two cards in one day, as long as you tell me about it ASAP and tell me which you want deleted, then the rest of your votes can still count. But if I am the one that discovers it in the end your out of luck.
You may only submit your own cards.
You may vote for your own card but like everyone else you only get one vote.
So what's in in for you? Well here are the gifts* being given to the the owners of the cards chosen for the poll.

The person with the third highest votes will also receive a special bronze level LTC.

The person with the second highest votes will also receive a silver level LTC.

The person with the highest votes will receive (1) a gold level LTC (2) a one of a kind LTC or ATC that no one else has. (I will make one especially for them) and finally (3) as a token of my appreciation of your hard work you will also receive 1(one) small LTC making surprise. (For example, it could be a small ink pad, a section of PAZ Cut, a package of brads, stickers, a spool of ribbon, or embellishments of some kind, you get the idea.

The items received should not be considered prizes but rather tokens of appreciation from all your letterboxing friends who understand the effort that is required to create such incredible works of art!

So please read the rules carefully and AQ mail me with any questions or concerns you may have. You have from now until midnight Feb 5 PST to get the first month's entries to me. This will give me a few days to get the entries entered into Blogger and get them ready to publish on the 17th.

PLEASE NOTE: this is not a trade as per say, although everyone chosen as an entry in the poll will get a participation LTC and some people will get other LTC's, none of the cards submitted for the poll will be returned. I guess you could think of them as my reward for creating and sending out all the LTC's for the creating and donating all the LTC's and other gifts for this endeavor.

****Do not think your card is not good/fancy/embellished/carved well enough for this poll. People have such a wide variety of tastes that you may be surprised at how many people like your card better than the rest. So please don't be shy!****

I figured it was time to show another of my personal cards. This card was part of The Pressed Petals Ring and is called Pansy. I was very pleased with how the card turned out and I really like the addition of the butterflies. It makes the card complete somehow.

SPECIAL FEATURED ARTIST - Mstrwndl

Last year I was blessed with the opportunity to meet Campfire Lady and Marmalade when they came to Victoria and I was still living in the area. During our long discussion about LTC's, it was recommended that I contact Mstrwndl as he did amazing carving. Needless to say, I did just that and we had a nice big trade.

So today I am going to feature a some of the cards in his Home Town Series. He feels that he has much better cards than these but I think they are amazing. I plan to feature more of his cards in the future.

I asked Mstrwndl to give me a little background info about each of the locations in the cards just for fun. His remarks will be in blue.

My Home Town

The Little Brown Church in the Vale. This is a beautiful card that looks like the kind of church every little girl wants to have her dream wedding in! The Little Brown Church In The Vale is a halfhearted rendition of the Pioneer church at Cannonsburg Old Time Village here in town. 200 years ago Murfreesboro was Cannonsburg and the capital of Tennessee. That was what the church looked like then.

The detail on this card is amazing! Carving all the clapboard and windows must have taken ages. Rosie's Boarding House is still there on East Main Street. It has been there since I can remember. I don't remember it being anything else but a bed and breakfast.

This carve is so cool, so detailed, it makes me want to go and eat there right now! The Slick Pig Café is a little building out east of town that used to be the local beer store. They closed it down and the man that bought it has won blue ribbons for BBQ and hot wings.

The Fillin' Station is an awesome rendition of an old gas station. It's very nostalgic looking. The Fillin' Station was an old gas station that was turned into a speakeasy around 1940. It remained a pub for the next 60 years and was finally demolished. The whole time it was a bar the bubble pumps remained out front. Of course the tanks were dry, but the pumps remained.

Pete's Package House looks like the cutest outhouse you have ever seen. Pete's Package House from afar looks like an old fashioned outhouse, but upon further inspection it produces some of Tennessee's finest sipping whiskey. It too is east of town and about 13 miles outside of the city limits.

And just to finish of this showcase of amazing cards from Mstrwndl is one of his famous portrait carvings that he is so well known for. This card was the 7th image in the I Go To Sleep To Dream LTC Ring.

FEATURED ARTIST - Alamocito

Alomacito makes the most wonderfully colourful cards and I have had a terrible time trying to narrow it down to these first 6 cards that I am going to feature.

This first cad is called"Thoroughly MOD-ern Fairy "and it was created for the Fairies LTC Ring that was run by Sweet N Sour. I just adore the feathers that she has used for wings, they really make the card extra special.

The next card in our showcase is called "Pumpkin. It is not only a fantastic piece of art work by its self, her use of buttons for embellishments is a really cool touch. According to the back of the card "This is a recycled LTC stamp from my Old Faces LTC but done differently. Each new Pumpkin LTC is different from the other". This is an awesome card.

The third card we get to enjoy is called "BOO Bug". It was created originally for the Ghosts & Goblins, Hauntings & Haunts LTC Ring which was a ring run by Alamocito. I think this card is so original and wonderfully executed.

Our or fourth card is called "Peek-a-boo Kitten"Created for the Meow VS Woof LTC ring. The colour is amazing and the design is so neat!

The fifth card in this set is called "Emu-Wren" and was created for the Going Down Under Ring. Alamaocito says"The emu-Wren is a bird found in certain parts of southern Australia. I couldn't resist doing this card because it has my name in it. :o)"

Our final card is called "Every Park Needs a Ranger", it was a bonus card for the National Parks LTC Ring hosted by Alamocito herself. Let's face it if a park needs a Ranger this is the guy you want! Colour is excellent on this card! For those of you who love Virtuals, Alamocito has quite a few of them with similar types of art work. You should check them out if your interested.

FEATURED ARTIST - Sahalie

Another incredible work of art from my Beads, Beads, Beads, Ring was this card called "Fruit of the Vine" by Sahalie. I can't imagine they amount of work she must have put in to making all of these cards but the end result was truly amazing! All the individual beads attached to an already outstanding stamp make for a fabulous work of art.

Milagro created the coolest card called "Whatever" for my Beads, Beads, Beads, ring. There are so many wonderful things going on in this card including beads of course, embossing and a ton of other stuff that I am just going to let the card speak for itself.

SPECIAL FEATURED ARTIST - Buggaboo

We have a really special featured artist today named Buggaboo who is 5 years old. She is a member of the boxing family called PB&J. Recently she was a part of my Ladybug Madness LTC ring and this is her card.

Can you believe this awesome card was created by a 5 year old. While she did have some help on the stamp from Mom, I think this girl is definitely worth keeping an eye on, by the time she is 10 she will be creating LTC's we will all be jealous of!

Buggaboo says her favorite part of letterboxing is "getting all the stamps and seeing all the pretty things". She just loves trading for new LTC's.
